What this site is, and what it is not
The short version: we introduce people. Everything after the introduction is between the two of you.

An introduction, and nothing beyond it
Seasonal Run is a place where boat owners, CDL drivers, transport carriers and licensed captains find each other on the Northeast to Florida corridor. We publish listings and we pass introductions between people who want them.
We are not a broker, a freight forwarder, a carrier, a transport company, an employment agency, or an insurer. We do not move boats. We do not employ or contract any driver or captain listed here. We are not a party to any agreement you reach with someone you met through this site.
No money passes through Seasonal Run. Rates, deposits, cancellation terms and payment are settled directly between you and whoever you hire.
Assume nothing here has been checked
Almost everything on a listing is what that person told us: where they are based, what licence they hold, how many years they have done it, what they are free for. None of it has been verified, and you should treat it the way you would treat a stranger's word.
There are two exceptions, and both work the same way. Where a carrier has supplied a USDOT number and somebody here has looked it up against the public federal record, the listing says so and gives the date. Where a captain has let us check their ticket against the Coast Guard’s record, the listing says that and gives the date. Each tells you what that record said on that day and nothing more, authority lapses, tickets expire, and a listing is not re-checked automatically. Where no check has been made, the listing says that too.
Both checks are done by a person, not by a machine. A captain’s credential number is never stored, only what the check found and when. A carrier’s USDOT number is different: it is a public company identifier, it is kept, and it is shown on the listing so that you can look it up yourself. Publishing is the other way round: a driver or captain who signs up is on the site straight away, before anybody here has read a word of it. That is why a listing says plainly when nothing has been checked, and why you should read it as somebody’s own account of themselves until it says otherwise. Everyone who lists themselves gets a private link to change what it says or take it down, and we remove anything we would not stand behind.
Before you hand over keys, a boat, or money: ask for references, ask for proof of insurance, confirm authority yourself at the FMCSA's public search, and speak to your own underwriter. That is your job and we cannot do it for you.
The planner is for planning, not for compliance
The trip planner, the daylight calculations and the cost builder are aids to thinking. Sunrise and sunset figures are astronomical calculations, not official times, and not a legal travel window.
Permit terms, legal travel hours, escort requirements, curfews and restricted days are set by each state and by the specific permit issued for your load. The permit you hold governs, not this website. Check the numbers against your permit before anything rolls.
What is fair, and what is not
- List yourself honestly. Do not claim a licence, an authority, an insurance position or an experience level you do not have.
- Do not list somebody else without their agreement.
- Do not harvest what is on these pages for a mailing list, a database, or resale.
- Do not use the introduction system to send sales pitches to people who listed themselves for work.
- An introduction link is meant for the one person it was sent to. Do not pass it on.
We can take down a listing, or refuse one, without a long explanation, usually because something in it turned out not to be true, or because of how somebody behaved after an introduction. If it happens to you and you think it is wrong, write to us and say so.
The arrangement is yours
If somebody you met here does the job badly, damages your boat, does not turn up, does not pay, or turns out not to hold what they said they held, that is between you and them. Seasonal Run introduced you; it did not vouch for anyone and could not.
The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and running, and we do not promise it will be free of errors or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of it or from any arrangement you reach through it.
None of this is meant to disclaim anything that cannot lawfully be disclaimed.
Changes and privacy
These terms may change as the site does. The date at the top says when they last did. Material changes will be said plainly rather than slipped in.
How your details are handled is set out in the privacy page, which is part of these terms.
These terms do not name a state whose law governs them. If a disagreement ever came up, the first move would be to write to the address below and sort it out directly.
These terms describe how this site actually works, written plainly. They are not legal advice, and they have not been reviewed by a lawyer.
